You have the numbers. But do you know what they mean?

Most business owners already have financial statements. What's usually missing is someone who can look at them and clearly answer the questions that actually drive decisions.

  • How did we actually do?
  • Why did profit change?
  • Where is our cash going?
  • Are we charging enough?
  • Can we afford to hire?
  • What should we focus on next?
  • Are we on track for the year?

Services

This turns accounting data into clear answers and next steps — not just a set of reports.

Monthly financial advisory

A monthly review of your P&L, balance sheet, and KPIs, with a written summary of what changed and why, plus a 30–45 minute call to walk through it and decide what to do next. Starting at $1,500/mo

Fractional CFO / strategic advisory

Everything in monthly advisory, plus rolling cash-flow forecasting, annual budgeting, scenario modeling, and quarterly strategic planning — for businesses making bigger hiring, financing, or expansion calls. Starting at $2,500/mo

Financial health checkup

A one-time review of the last 12 months, covering profitability, margins, cash flow, receivables, pricing, and owner compensation, delivered as a short prioritized list of what to fix first. $1,000 one-time

Financial decision support

Before a major call — a hire, a price increase, new debt, a second location — a model of what it actually does to your cash and profitability, with a clear recommendation. $750–$3,000 per project

Cash-flow forecasting

A rolling forecast of collections, payroll, vendor payments, taxes, and debt service, so you know what's coming — not just what's in the bank today. $750–$1,500

Budget & forecasting

An annual budget and forward-looking forecast built around your actual goals, with scenario analysis and monthly tracking against plan. $1,500–$3,500

What your numbers should tell you

The kind of thing this advisory turns your financials into, instead of a report you skim once and file away.

  • "Revenue is up 15%, but profitability is down. Here's why."
  • "You can afford the new hire, but not until next quarter."
  • "Your fastest-growing service is actually your least profitable."
  • "You have enough cash today, but your current spending creates a shortfall in eight weeks."
  • "A modest pricing increase could add more profit than cutting expenses would."

Illustrative examples of the kind of insight this advisory is built to produce — not quotes from a specific engagement.

How it works

A simple, low-friction process from first conversation to a recommendation you can act on.

  1. Understand

A review of your accounting information, financial statements, business model, and goals — over Google Meet or email, whichever's easier for you.

  2. Analyze

Identifying what's actually driving revenue, profitability, cash flow, and financial risk in the business.

  3. Advise

Clear, practical recommendations on what to do next — not just a report of what already happened.

Who this is for

Established, owner-led businesses — usually somewhere around $1M–$5M in annual revenue — that already have a bookkeeper or accounting system in place but don't have (or don't yet need) a full-time controller or CFO.

  • You have financial statements, but no one translating them into decisions
  • You want an experienced financial professional to call when something big comes up
  • You'd rather pay for guidance a few hours a month than a full-time salary

Why work with a CPA on this

Davidson Revenue Advisory is run by a CPA with five years in revenue and financial accounting for growing companies, including leading a team of accountants and playing a lead role in a company-wide ERP implementation. Before that, two years in external audit at a Big Four firm, testing controls and financial statements for real-estate clients with portfolios in the hundreds of millions.

Traditional accounting tells you what happened. This is the layer on top of that — reading the same numbers your bookkeeper already produces, and turning them into a clear answer about what to do next. Delivered remotely, over email and video call, without the cost of a full-time hire.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide bookkeeping?

No — this is financial advisory, not transactional bookkeeping. It's built to work alongside your existing bookkeeper or accounting system, using the data you already have to provide higher-level analysis and guidance.

Do I need a full-time CFO?

Probably not yet. Most businesses in the $1M–$5M range need experienced financial judgment more often than they need a full-time executive. This gives you access to that judgment at a fraction of the cost.

Do you work remotely?

Yes — the whole engagement runs over email and video call (Google Meet), using your existing cloud accounting system and secure document sharing. No phone calls, and no requirement to be in any particular location.

What size businesses do you work with?

Generally established businesses around $1M–$5M in annual revenue, though the right fit depends more on complexity and need than on revenue alone.

Do you prepare taxes?

No — tax preparation isn't part of this service. Happy to coordinate with your existing preparer, or point you toward one if you need a referral.

How often do we meet?

Monthly advisory clients get one structured review call each month, with email access in between for questions that come up.

Let's make your numbers more useful.

The first conversation is about understanding your business and figuring out honestly whether this would help — not a sales pitch.
